Don’t know where to begin designing your new kitchen? Say hello to our November issue – out now – where we’re taking you through the process, step by step, plus bringing you even more inspiring features to help you along your project. Here is what you can expect inside…
‘Where do I even start?’ seems to be something I ask myself, a lot. I think it when I’m assessing – slightly bewilderedly – my daughter’s Year 1 homework assignments. (I’m now an expert on phonemes and graphemes.) And I thought it recently when it came to planning my loft conversion – several times for that matter. Especially when it came to the bathroom. Knowing where to start a project, no matter how big or small, can be completely overwhelming. So much so, sometimes, that it can stop you from starting altogether.
Where to start designing your kitchen
I’ve found that knowledge is key to defeating these fears and mental obstructions. Which is why, if you’re considering a new kitchen project, we’ve put together the main ingredients of what makes a kitchen and where to start – along with the fundamentals of what you should know and go on to research before taking the plunge.
Wellness bathrooms
Speaking of being overwhelmed, I’m sure, if you’re like me (and my entire office who admitted to doing this, too), you’ve occasionally spent a longer time in your toilet than entirely necessary – to try and unwind, get a little peace and calm, or avoid a social situation. This behaviour has become a rising trend online, dubbed ‘bathroom camping’. So, if the toilet is becoming the latest place you catch up on a little ‘me time’, why not embrace it and introduce some wellness into the space?
Features to inspire your project
You’ll also be able to find features on everything from wetrooms to wood drenching. Speaking of wood, I’m a big fan of our cover home this issue – which boasts natural walnut veneer cabinetry. And doesn’t cover star Woodrow Vizor Architects’ architectural assistant Alize Soubeyran look cosy next to that faux fireplace? Perfect as we head into the colder winter months.
Wherever you are in your project, I wish you the best. And why not get in touch once it’s finished? We’d love to hear from you.
Happy reading,
