Eagerly awaiting to decorate your home for autumn? Picture delicious berry tones, rustic finishes, and countryside charm – we’re bringing you the latest trends of the season to get your inspiration going…
There is something so nostalgic yet enticing about that first autumn morning; crisp wind biting at your cheeks, leaves turning golden, and the aroma of pumpkin-spiced coffee waking up your senses. If you couldn’t tell, it’s my favourite season of the year, which is why I’m excited to bring you the latest trends, accessories and ideas, bound to get you inspired to start afresh when decorating your home for the cold months.
From dark and decadent colour palettes, raw and rustic finishes, to deliciously tactile layers, here is what’s popular this Autumn Winter 2025 season…
Pumpkin patch
Nothing screams autumn more than pumpkin-shaped everything. From cushions, coffee cups, to storage jars and bathroom accessories, what better way to celebrate the cosy season than by embracing its most-loved icon?
If you want to go big, some of the latest launches are adorned with charming squash symbols, whether it’s bedding, tablecloths, or plush towels. But for a subtle nod to Autumn Winter 2025, you can simply pop pumpkin-themed crockery and candles on open shelves or chic decorative pillows on your sofa.
Berry reds
Burgundy, damson, dark berry – these rich tones are timeless and surprisingly versatile, making them ideal for decorating your home no matter the season, so it’s no surprise they are back for Autumn Winter 2025. Oozing warmth, they work well in both big and small doses and suit any size room.
Dot pops of plum throughout your cooking space with the help of tiles and elegant kitchenalia, or dare to go bold in your bedroom or bathroom for an invitingly snug atmosphere by drenching the entire room (ceiling included) in one of these luscious shades.
Countryside charm
While flipping through the latest digital Autumn Winter 2025 lookbooks I received in the past few months, I felt a pull towards the farmhouse-chic aesthetic. Picture Shaker cabinetry, classic wall panelling, wood freestanding furniture, imperfectly perfect tiles, chunky butler sinks, and vintage range cookers; this style simply exudes modern-rustic charm.
The colour palette is rich and connected to nature, so indulge in deep green tones, rusty reds, and toasty neutrals. Complete the look with heirloom pieces, heritage-inspired patterned fabrics, aged brass finishes, and artisan earthenware on open shelves.
Raw and rustic autumn
The autumn and winter months are synonymous with slow living, whether you’re embracing cosy nights in by the fireplace, cocooned in a bundle of throws, or gathering your loved ones around the dining table decked out in garden-grown produce, fluffy roasties, and steamy wild-berry pies.
One of this look’s keywords is ‘homely’, so opt for tactile plaster on the walls, concrete-effect surfaces, layered textures, from wool to bouclé, and grainy oak. Wood drenching (enveloping a room in this material) is also gaining popularity, so why not get a chalet-inspired feel in your interiors this season?
Retro love
This season, we’re feeling sentimental, and this trend is all about drawing inspiration from the past, fusing old with new, and ultimately crafting a timeless, characterful look.
The 70s are particularly standing out, so take a trip back in time to bring an authentic retro touch to your interiors with rich walnut, simplistic furniture, tiles in unexpected spots such as side tables and islands, plush velvet textiles, geometric shapes and patterns, and a curated colour palette of burnt terracotta, inky blues, olive green, and muted mustard.
Glamorous mid-century
The 1950s mid-century modern style has had a glittering makeover this Autumn Winter 2025. Picture stone, sculptural pieces, chrome lighting, accent seating, velvet and silk materials, and a decadent palette of sumptuous browns, chalky pastels, and richer tones like dark greens and blues.
This look is sleek and sophisticated, reminiscent of luxurious boutique hotels, accentuated through curves and linear forms, elegant décor, and glamorous finishes, perfect for contemporary settings.
