What’s trending: how to create a cosy home for spring

A cosy home is often craved during the colder months, but we’re here to show you that you can bask in that cocooning feeling no matter the season…

It seems 2025’s social media trend titled ‘cosy-maxxing’ is still very much present in interior design – a concept meant to improve wellbeing by designing a comfortable, inviting home with a layered, lived-in feel.

In fact, the raw, rustic aesthetic is one of the key looks for spring and summer. Picture imperfect finishes, irregular edges and warm, natural materials that ultimately create a calm and cosy feeling.

For example, you can get the look in your kitchen or dining room with sustainably sourced wood or reclaimed timber furniture, hand-painted ceramics on open shelves, artwork on the walls, and upholstered seating solutions.

In the bathroom, introduce tactile materials such as wicker baskets and waffle towels for that spa-like feel. Meanwhile, in the bedroom, with warmer days (hopefully) on the horizon, swap chunky blankets and faux-fur throws for quality cotton and airy linen, which will help regulate your body temperature while still keeping you nice and cosy.

Plus, mood lighting makes all the difference in how cosy your home feels at the end of the day. So say goodbye to the big light and infuse your kitchen, bedroom or bathroom with a soft, warm glow with the help of atmospheric solutions, from low-level pendants to wall-mounted sconces.

Never doubt the power of the café curtain – while giving privacy back to this ensuite, it’s also letting soft natural light in.

I love the medley of neutral hues and textures in this snug area, which oozes warmth and cosiness.
