Our April issue is out now! This month, we ask the experts if there’s a magic number behind the cost of your new kitchen, help you decide if you’re team bath or shower, bring you five popular bedroom styles, and so much more…
It was while in a fast-track queue waiting to see the Pixar show at Disneyland Paris when I had a profound life lesson (which also inspired the topic of our main kitchen feature this issue). Already an expensive trip away with my little girls, and here we were falling for the trap of paying extra to spend slightly less time standing around.
I clearly wasn’t the only one worried we were being duped, as the mum in front of me said to her husband, “Are we silly for doing this?”. His answer was an enlightening moment for me. “Some people waste money, others, time. I know which one I’d prefer to do.” Yes, it was annoying we had to pay money to queue for 20 minutes instead of an hour and a half. But by doing that, we got better seats, and had time to go on another ride that day. So in that sense, we felt justified in spending that extra money. It was, figuratively and literally, worth it.
So, when it comes to kitchen design, is there a particular figure you ‘should’ spend on a kitchen? Spoiler: there is no answer; apart from however much you want to spend on a kitchen. The one piece of advice I would give here (apart from reading the feature, of course) is just to make sure you don’t have any regrets about how you spend your budget. Make sure, whatever you spend, you feel like it is worth it.

Expert advice and inspiration
This issue is also packed with a plethora of other features to help inspire you and your project. From the latest Spring Summer launches, baths vs. showers, to worktops with wow.
