Say hello to our March issue, out now! This month, we’re bringing you the key ingredients to a hardworking and timeless kitchen design, how to use pattern and texture in your bathroom, luxurious bedrooms, and so much more…
While I was writing my editor’s letter for the March issue, I was staring out of my window, seeing a grey sky, grey, rain-drenched concrete roads, and leafless trees dotted across the dreary street… It was pretty grim, in all honesty. Which is probably why my favourite feature this issue is the one offering some much-needed escapism. For the first time ever – well, at least in the seven years I’ve been here – we’ve gone outside of the UK’s shores and looked at kitchens from around the world.

From sun-drenched Australia to our Scandinavian neighbours, you’ll find 10 countries showcasing inspirational examples of what design looks like internationally. (The one from Paris, with the gorgeous green worktop and impressive decorative vent holes in the cabinetry, is my favourite.)

Project ideas
I hope this issue can contribute to your own escapism, too, with some aspirational projects and plenty of ideas to ponder. From bathrooms with texture and pattern, to beautiful pantries and utilities to admire. We’re also looking into plywood kitchens, luxurious bedrooms, how to welcome speckled terrazzo to your bathing or showering space, and clever nooks and niches to amp up your home’s wow factor.

Functional kitchens
However, if you are thinking about redoing your kitchen this year, there’s one thing you won’t want to avoid, and that is getting your design right. With so many factors and things to consider – including layout, materials, and appliances – we’ve broken down the basic components of what makes a functional kitchen, so it won’t only look good, but will also work perfectly for you and your lifestyle.

Whatever your project, I thank you once again for reading KBB on behalf of myself and my talented team, plus all the designers, freelancers, photographers, stylists, and everyone else who contributes to make the magazine what it is.
I hope you enjoy the issue,
