As days are getting shorter and colder, what better time to warm up your interiors than now? And I’m not talking about the temperature…
Along with autumn and winter comes a craving for retreating to cosy, cocooning interiors at the end of the day, which instantly makes me think of hygge – a Danish concept translating to a sense of comfort and contentment.
Hygge encourages enjoying the simple pleasures in life with a focus on wellbeing and creating a warm and soothing feeling at home. So, where should you start?
Cosy, hygge-inspired interiors are synonymous with comfy, tactile fabrics such as tufted rugs, linen curtains, raw wood, sheepskin cushions, and rattan furniture, earthy colourways like beige, burnt terracotta and golden amber, as well as other nature-inspired hues, from blues to greens.
Apart from materials and colour palettes, decluttering your space and welcoming nature in also play important roles in achieving the perfect cosy atmosphere. For the complete lowdown on adding hygge to your home, click here.
