Terrazzo is back and better than ever – we’re exploring ways to welcome this playful, speckled material to your bathroom.
Terrazzo is one of the world’s oldest composite materials, originally created to repurpose offcuts of natural stone. Over time, brands have gotten creative with its composition and now, you can find practical porcelain lookalikes and even sustainable solutions crafted from recycled wood chips instead of marble, for example.
One thing is certain, ever since its appearance, it has come back in style, time and time again. And recently, I’ve been drawn to designs, particularly bathroom projects, featuring this speckled surface, whether boldly or in smaller doses.
These days, terrazzo is incredibly versatile, suitable for anything from wall cladding and flooring to bespoke vanities and basins, so the design opportunity are limitless.
