From finding your kitchen style, the ultimate bathroom wishlist items, to bedroom design inspo, we’re bringing you our lowdown on these topics and so much more in our October issue – out now! Fancy a peek inside? Here is what you can expect this month…
Isn’t it lovely that we’re not all the same? That we don’t all like the same things: the same fashion, the same food, the same interiors… Otherwise, wouldn’t everything be boring? But, let’s be honest – trying to discover your individual style can often be tricky. You have to listen to your ‘inner self’ and try not to be swayed by trends that you’ll end up hating in a month’s time.
And sometimes, the more you look, the harder it is to figure out your taste. Even I, the editor of an interior design magazine, am not entirely sure I know my ‘style’; evidenced by the fact that when I was talking to a bathroom designer recently, I said – and I quote – “I suppose I’m quite classic-contemporary. I like non-bathroom bathrooms with industrial and Victorian twists.”
Since then, I’d also like to add the fact I enjoy Art Deco hints, too. Does such a bathroom style exist? I think you’d probably call that ‘fusion’.
Kitchen styles
If you don’t know where to start in discovering your own style, especially when it comes to kitchens, the feature written by the talented Charlotte Luxford, will be the first step in steering you in the right direction.
As you’ll discover in this issue, it can be anything that helps you choose your style. For our cover star, Eva, it was the brilliantly dramatic marble worktop that was the inspiration for her ‘moody mix of farmhouse chic with a modern twist’ space – ‘fusion’ in action right there for you.
Features to help you elevate your look
Once you’ve figured out your general direction, we have plenty of other features to help you fine-tune your look – from panelling and ladders to fun ways to use paint. Back to bathrooms, we’ve also got our top 10 wishlist items of the year – perfect inspiration for knowing what to look out for when designing your own space.
Wherever you are in your project journey, or ‘style self-discovery’, I thank you for reading our print magazine, and hope to see you again next month for our November issue.
Happy reading,
